Courses Modules
This 5-week course offers a variety of learning materials, including video interviews with industry professionals. Each week, you'll have interactive discussions to share your knowledge and hands-on assignments to create portfolio-worthy artifacts.
Requirements
Taking an online course requires specific equipment, some technical skills, and other soft skills. At a minimum, you will need:
- Access to an internet connection and a working computer (with Windows 10 / OS X 10.13 or higher).
- The latest two versions of Chrome or Firefox with Javascript enabled.
- Proficiency with Microsoft© Office applications.
- The ability to conduct research searches on the Internet.
- The ability to send and receive emails and email attachments in and out of class.
- The ability to save backups of all the work you create for this course.
About The Instructor
Cortney Harding is an in-demand expert and one of the few people who can not only translate the impact of the digital revolution from Web2 to Web3 and its impact on businesses but also how the Metaverse can become the new frontier to create better and more accepting communities.
Cortney is the founder and CEO of a transformational VR/AR agency, Friends with Holograms, which is focused on creating innovative, powerful, and effective experiences for training. Her clients include Walmart, Verizon, Accenture, Coca-Cola, and the US Air Force. She has won multiple awards including “Best VR/AR” at Mobile World Congress, SXSW Innovation Award Finalist, and Top HR Product by HR Executive. Cortney pushes the medium of VR forward by fusing some of the first voice-activated virtual reality interactivity with highly engaging, cinematic content from acclaimed directors who specialize in the medium. She has experience building teams with best-in-class Unity and Unreal developers and producers.
Cortney has taught at North Carolina State and Caltech and will be teaching at Barnard and NYU this year, where she will be sharing her one-of-a-kind curriculum. She has also guest lectured at Johns Hopkins, Chapman University, Harvard Business School, and Columbia University. She is currently working with Meta to help shape strategy around learning and training in the Metaverse and was instrumental in creating "What is the Metaverse?" - a groundbreaking course that covers all aspects of the Metaverse while exploring safety issues, ethical questions, and much more.
